Rewind

August 2010

August 2012

They don't even look like babies anymore, how did that happen so fast?!  This Sunday we have our session for 2 year photos with Tia Lorri, which will be more proof that my baby is now an actual little (tiny) boy.  Still Im very excited about getting his pictures taken, but less excited about what I may have to bribe him with to get him to smile.  I miss my little wiggle worm baby, does this sad/happy feeling ever go away while looking at baby photos??

Little Weekend

I have been MIA for a couple of days and Im terribly sorry!!
There is just so much going on in my head right now that I didn't get a chance to post on Friday!

So let me fill you in:
Little is back to his awesome self again! His infections seemed to have gone away and we are very happy about that.  Well "we" as in me because Dada seemed to have caught the throat infection.

We celebrated Tia Linda's birthday Friday with spaghetti and karaoke at Gramma's house!
I sing horribly but I LOVE karaoke!! I get so into it you have to pry the microphone from my fingers.

On Saturday, because Dada was feeling ill, Gramma came to Gymboree with Little and I.  We had our awesome breakfast and then had a very exhausting fun time at Gymboree! Although, Little did laugh out loud at a little girl who fell!! It was the first time he's ever laughed at someone that wasn't intentionally trying to make him laugh.  I felt really bad but I guess I have to chalk it up to the fact that Dada and I are always pretending to fall and bang ourselves up to get him to giggle...so maybe we'll have to rely on our other giggle inducers from now on.  Yes I did put his hand down, he actually pointed and laughed *face palm*, and calmly told him "we don't do that".  Oh this kid!!  Saturday night I spent some time with friends and Tia Linda to celebrate her birthday grown up style.  Little stayed with Gramma and Papaw, so that Dada could get some more rest.

Sunday, Tia Faith threw a skating party for her son Nicky who turned 14.  Little & Squish couldn't skate, skates didn't go that small in size, and spent the entire time running around the rink with Gramma, Papaw and our good friend Mike.  I haven't gone skating since I was around 14, it brought back fun memories until I fell flat on my bottom and it brought me back to my age!  I can't wait till I can teach Little how to skate because I forgot how much I LOVE IT!!

Little update:
If ever Little does not have pants or shorts on he takes off his diaper holds it up and says "this".  I laugh every time (I can't help it) but we are now in the process of getting him to keep it on and take him to the potty when he takes it off.

He says "hello" when he wants to talk on the phone, we usually let him call Gramma.

When Little is wearing shorts/pants he insists on having his hands in his pockets.  Its the most adorable thing EVER!!

He helps me wash clothes: throwing clothes I give him from the washer into the dryer... mostly his clothes and socks.
He also likes to help fold clothes: rolling the clothes into a little ball.

New words: dance, toes, school and there are more that I can't think of at the moment!!

2 weeks til the big party!!
Decorations and goodie bags are officially crossed off my list! Well...except for the few DIY's Im working on as part of the party decor.  Im a procrastinating Mama but I'm getting to it, I PROMISE!!

Weekend Smiles

We are looking at a pretty great weekend ahead:
Today Dada went on his deep sea fishing trip that Little and I "gave" him for Fathers day and he'll be gone all day.  So Little and I will be hanging out with Squish and Tia Linda.  Saturday night Dada and I will be heading to a good friends birthday celebration, we're gonna have a little grown up time together!  And Sunday Im hoping to take Little to see the movie Brave.  Gramma took Squish last Saturday to see it as sort of a girls day and they loved it.  Im definitely looking forward to our full weekend ahead and Im going to leave a few links to enjoy.

Thinking this would make the perfect gift for Little's birthday.  We like to give him something extra special!

If you haven't heard about the Disney/Pixar movie Brave, please go watch the trailer now! (Im sure you've heard of it though!)

I am a huge fan of Baby Gap and Im loving this new collection.  At first I thought it would be super hard to dress a boy but I LOVE IT!

This blog has finally convinced me to move forward with my red jeans idea.  The idea: take my old pair of light gray jeans and dye them red! It sounds pretty easy and I can hit 2 birds with one stone; try the DIY and have red jeans! (I hate that saying!)

Im finally doing it! Im going to open an Etsy store!  Im going to start small with selling invitations Ive designed (and all things invitation related) then move on to bigger things.  Its very scary and thrilling at the same time!! Ill have a full scoop in a later post.

Looking forward to big fun this weekend with more smiles like the one above!

Fishies!!

Last Sunday we had a little get together at Gramma & Papaws house for some Fathers Day fajitas.   Gramma bought the babies a pool to keep them cool, made some delicious fajita tacos and then we got Papaw a super yummy ice cream cake.  Unfortunately Dada couldn't make it due to a schedule change at work but we did give him his gift as soon as he woke up and took him to a big Fathers Day breakfast that morning.  Later this month Dada will go on a deep sea fishing trip with Papaw, so I took care of all the fees and packed his backpack full of his favorite goodies for the trip as a gift.

Now take a look at those photos!! Could I have more?? Yes I do, I held back!!  We have a couple of fishy babies, they absolutely love the water and had a blast splashing around.

The baby shower I hosted Saturday went off great and Im sorting through all the pictures to share here later. Now on to planning Little's birthday party!!  eeeesh... Im one busy Mama!  Happy first day of summer!

P.S. A good way to enjoy this summer is to go out, buy a pool and do some fishy watching yourself!

10 Photos

First I want to share a couple of pictures that I found while going through my iPhoto!!

June 2011

May 2012

What a difference a year (or so) makes!! Look how little they are in the first picture, what cuties! I just had to share this picture, they've been best friends since they were both little and squishy!

Now on to business, as you can see I take a lot of photos of Little.  But I always wonder what photos I should be taking of Little now, that I will love later on.  I just read an awesome list that has inspired me even more than ever to take pictures of my little boy! This post from Lil Sugar has an amazing list of the 10 pictures to take of your tot each month.

The list:
1. A portrait
2. New mannerisms
3. Siblings
4. Playtime
5. Bath time
6. Squeaky clean baby
7. Favorite Toy
8. New trick
9. A picture with Mama
10. A picture with Dada

Some of pictures on this list are a little obvious but sometimes Im so busy clicking away that I forgot that their are some pictures that need to be taken.   #7 is a great example, his favorite toy this month happens to be his Woody the Cowboy doll from Toy Story. Luckily I do have a photo of Little holding Woody on a walk to Tia Linda's house, but I agree this picture should be taken every month because it does happen to change very often.  As for #3, there probably won't be any Little siblings anytime soon, so our Squish will have to fill this spot for now... after all they fight and love each other like brother and sister as it is (see above photos)!  Hopefully this list inspires you as much as it has me and yes there will be "10 Photos"posts around here very soon!!

Comicpalooza Sunday!

This past Sunday Little and I attended his 2nd Comicpalooza!!
I dressed him in his cutest super hero tee, his adorable red chucks
and off we went.

There were lots of costumed people strolling around and cool booths
to visit!  Little was a bit shy with Darth Vader and the Storm Trooper
but loved Captain America!

Here is Papaw, Cousin Rene and Little with Dark Anakin.

Dark Phoenix has been one of my favorite characters
since I was a little, this ladies costume was awesome!

I like when Little gets really excited.

Steam Punk has a huge following and I definitely
see why, these guys looked great!

These 2 ladies were my favorite of the whole day,
look how much detail went into Mrs. Twoface!!
Wowza! They make me want to dress up next year!

This was the first time I had ever really let Little out
of his stroller, usually Im pretty paranoid in huge
crowds.  But his cousin Rene (a big boy) was
walking around and of course Little wanted to be a
big boy too.  He already looks up to cousin Rene!

Ghostbusters

Poison Ivy

Squish and Bailey held hands while
walking until Squish decided enough was enough.

There were some weird pairs like Deadpool and Kevin Smith

Well dressed Renaissance Man

A family of Batman villains, Harley Quinn
(another favorite) and that Scarecrow is crazy cool!

Gramma bought Little a small toy hulk to hold on to while
strolling around and I got Little his first Hulk comic book.

The Murderous Clown? Yes its a little weird BUT I
loved the way The Hulk was drawn in this series.

I also managed to score this series 1 Marvel Avengers Hulk action figure!
They are hard to find, sold out and on back order everywhere.
I thought about keeping it in the package for him, his first
collectors item, but we might just give it to him for his birthday.

This is the tiny Hulk Gramma bought Little.

He loves it and spent all of Memorial Day playing with him.

One last thing: I am a TRUEBIE, which means that I am a huge fan of the
amazing True Blood, an HBO series.  Well this brings me to my point; Kristin Bauer van Straten who plays Pam de Beaufort on True Blood was at Comicpalooza! And yes I got to meet her!! She is one of my favorite characters on the show and was super nice in person, very tiny.

It was a great Comicpalooza Sunday!  I hope next year Dada can join us and then maybe we can dress up as a family!  So many choices and so  many ideas for a little family of 3!
